'People will never forget how you made them feel': Caroline Flack shares cryptic post online after Graham Norton's BAFTA joke about X Factor sacking

She was one of of the targets of Graham Norton's acerbic opening monologue at Sunday's BAFTA Television Awards.

So no doubt fans of Caroline Flack will be wondering if the Irish TV presenter was the subject of her cryptic Instagram post on Monday.

It was revealed in February that the 36-year-old and co-host Olly Murs would not be returning to the new series of The X Factor following a drop in audience figures for their debut series.

Soon after, it was announced that previous host Dermot O'Leary would be returning to present.

Kicking off Sunday's live broadcast of the BAFTAS, Graham quipped: 'I for one really enjoyed the much-nominated Car Share. I think my favourite bit was when Matt LeBlanc did the donut around the cenotaph. It was probably the biggest U-turn of the year, unless of course you count Simon Cowell going , "Er, does anyone still have Dermot's number?"

 'I'm not saying the writing's on the wall for Caroline Flack, but you could get better odds for Anne Boleyn returning to the second series of Wolf Hall.'

While BAFTA guest Dermot's embarrassed reaction to his name was shown on BBC1, Caroline managed to evade the cameras during the monologue.

However, Caroline took to Instagram on Monday, sharing a quote from Maya Angelou: 'People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.'

One of Caroline's 885k Instagram followers clearly thought this was directed at Graham, commenting: 'Love this @carolineflack I thought Graham's comments last night lacked class.... You were and are a great host.'

During the live broadcast, many viewers sided with Caroline, accusing Graham of being cruel to the brunette presenter.
