He finally responded to her Lemonade album with lyrics of his won this week.

But whatever is going on behind closed doors, Jay Z was affectionate as he joined Beyonce for an outing on Thursday night.

Placing a gentle hand on her back, the 46-year-old rapper guided her past the cameras as the couple left their midtown office in New York.

While Jay Z looked like he could have done without the flashbulbs, Beyonce appeared happy with the attention.

She was certainly dressed for the occasion, in bright canary yellow trousers with a white camisole top tucked inside.

An eye-catching straw hat and a white jacket draped over her shoulders completed the look.

The Bootylicious singer had a lemon sticker on her phone, a reference to her hit album Lemonade - which is filled with less than subtle references to her relationship with Jay.

Shunning interviews, both she and her husband prefer to let their lyrics do the talking - and Jay finally responded with words of his own this week.

Jay Z seemingly responded to Beyonce's hints with Fat Joe And Remy Ma's All the Way Up remix, which hit the internet on Tuesday after its debut at the Yankee Stadium.

Featuring on the song, he raps: 'You know you made it when the fact/ Your marriage made it is worth millions/ Lemonade is a popular drink, and it still is/ Survival of the littest.'

The couple - who got married in 2008 and have four-year-old daughter Blue Ivy together - sent the internet into overdrive at the end of April when the 34-year-old beauty released her hour-long visual album in which she hinted her spouse had been cheating on her with a woman named Becky.

In one track, Sorry Beyonce sang: 'Looking at my watch he should have been home/ I regret the day I put that ring on.

'He always got them f***ing excuses/ He only want me when I'm not on there / He better call Becky with the good hair.'

By the end of the conceptual visual album, the pair - who have been rocked with affair allegations for years - have seemingly patched up their differences and prepared to give their marriage another go.

However, although many fans were quick to lash out at the rapper for his alleged behaviour, some people believe the whole album may just be a publicity stunt to rake in cash.

Though speculation is still rife, almost four weeks on from the release, it's thought the couple are planning to address the claims on a forthcoming secret album.

A source said recently: 'Jay and Beyoncé were never going to do an interview to address all the questions that came up after Lemonade. It's more their style to respond through music.'
