Magician Richard Jones conjures up victory in Britain's Got Talent after leaving the audience in tears with emotional card trick featuring a WWII hero... as Amanda Holden attempts to set up the elderly veteran with her single grandmother

Magician Richard Jones was crowned winner of Britain's Got Talent 2016 on Saturday night after a tense final that saw 12 hopefuls battle it out for the £100,000 prize and the chance to perform at the Royal Variety Show.

Pipping singer Wayne Woodward to the post, the army bandsman scooped the top prize after an emotional performance that saw him perform a magic trick whilst telling the story of 97-year-old army veteran and former prisoner-of-war Fergus Anckorn.

After welling up at the stunt, an emotional Amanda Holden then cheekily suggested that Fergus should introduce himself to her single grandmother, before she went on to praise the magician for his work.
