It should really only take a single viewing of “Dirrty” to make you realize that Christina Aguilera is a natural born risk-taker that’s truly living up to her nickname Xtina. After all, the pop star pretty much pioneered the whole dip-dyed ends hair trend and swimsuits being considered as legitimate pieces of apparel. So despite nearly a decade spent as a perfect bleach blonde, we always new the singer had a wild streak, and on Monday night on The Voice, she put it on full display, debuting a head full of pastel purple locks tied into a metal hoop-pierced braid.
Christina is the latest star to cash in on the pastel hair craze, going a subtle shade of lilac with the help of Shah Karegar from Salon Benjamin. She paired her new raver-approved do with an equally millennial club-hopping style, piercing her face-framing micro braid with a series of large metal rings created by hairstylist Chris Appleton.
But Christina didn’t just stop with the bold new hair, she kept the fearless vibe going with a dark vampy lip, cleavage-baring, sheer cut-out top and lilac nails to match her new mane. Just think of Xtina’s fresh look as the easy way to go punk without any of the permanent body piercings.
