The Bombay blues: Kate dazzles in beaded gown and matching earrings as she and William meet Bollywood royalty for glittering gala at the Taj Mahal Hotel at the end of first day of their India tour

Dressed to impress for a glittering Bollywood gala, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, centre and right inset, are tonight gearing up for a dinner with a feast of Indian entertainment with singers, dancers and even a nod to fashion.

Kate dazzled in a beaded colbat blue gown, right, after sticking with one of her favourite designers, Jenny Packham, but the outfit was especially beaded in India in honour of their royal tour to the country and had an exquisite matching cape.

The Royal was also wearing matching earrings by Indian jeweller Amrapali.

The event tonight is being thrown by The British High Commission in partnership with the British Asian Trust - Prince Charles' charity - and the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in Mumbai.

Bollywood stars including former Miss World Aishwarya Rai, left, and Jacqueline Fernandes, left inset, were among the big name guests at the event who had the chance to chat to the Royals and talk up their film industry.
