Five Dead After Two Related Shootings in Georgia, Gunman on the Loose: Report


Two separate but related shootings in Georgia on Friday night left 5 people dead and one gunman at large, multiple reports confirm.

One man and two women were found by authorities at a home in Appling, Georgia, NBC reports. At least one victim was alive at the time, but later died at the hospital. As police were investigating the scene, a second call reportedly came in reporting a shooting nearby in which one man and one woman were found dead.


Columbia County Coroner Vernon Collins told Fox that they were working to confirm identities of the deceased.


According to the network, the Columbia County Sheriff's Office is looking for the suspect they've identified as Wayne Anthony Hawes, 50, but they are unsure if he is in a vehicle or on foot.

The Columbia County Sheriff's Office Caption, Andy Shedd told the Augusta Chronicle that the incidents are believe to have stemmed from a domestic dispute incident.
