REVEALED: Incredible arsenal of weapons - including a Tommy gun in a violin case and a MISSILE - found in tiny terraced house as gun-obsessed war veteran, 78, is jailed for two years

RAF veteran Harry Jones, left, 78, has been jailed for two years after police discovered a huge stash of illegal weapons 'strewn across' his home in Greater Manchester.

Jones, secretary of Tameside Gun Club for nearly 40 years, secretly kept shells and missiles, centre and middle right, at his home as well as a variety of weapons including a Tommy gun in a violin case, top right, and nine handguns, bottom right.

The 'terrifying arsenal' could have 'caused carnage' if it fell into the wrong hands, Manchester Crown Court heard.

It took officers four days to sort the international collection of guns, shells and helmets which filled every room in his house, and an Army lorry was needed to remove it.

The court heard guns were found under piles of clothes in the 'chaotic and cluttered' home but were hidden well enough to go unnoticed in a 'routine inspection'.
