The father, the son and the holy DNA test surprise: Archbishop of Canterbury learns he is the lovechild of Winston Churchill's top aide (as his mother says it is an 'ALMOST unbelievable shock')

Justin Welby (left), the most senior figure in the Anglican Communion consisting of some 85million Christians globally, said the news had come as a 'complete surprise'.

The Archbishop was raised believing that his father was Gavin Welby (right), and that he had been a honeymoon baby - born just nine months after his parents' marriage.

But the 60-year-old has now discovered the true identity of his father: Sir Anthony Montague Browne (centre and in white shirt inset), Winston Churchill's one time private secretary.
