Police arrest 13 Pakistanis over terror suspicion

       Police in the Central Region of Ghana on Thursday picked up thirteen Pakistani nationals at Assin Fosu over suspicion that they could be terrorists.

The thirteen who claim to be Ahmadiyya sect missionaries are said to have arrived in the country six months ago and have been preaching in villages across the country.

They were picked up Thursday morning while moving from Assin Nyankomase to Assin Fosu in the Central Region.

Assin Fosu District Police Commander, DSP Samuel Lawson, told Joy News the foreigners are currently in the custody of the Ghana Immigration Service while investigations continue.

Ghana And EU Review Timber Trade Agreement

    The Government of Ghana and the European Union (EU) have met to review progress towards the implementation of the Voluntary Partnership Agreement (VPA).

The VPA is aimed at ensuring the legal means of selling timber products exported to the EU and at the domestic market.

Nii Osa Mills, Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, said the Ghana-EU VPA Joint Monitoring and Review Mechanism (JMRM) which included representatives of stakeholder groups would oversee the implementation of the agreement.

He said the JMRM reviewed the status of development of Ghana’s timber legality assurance system and discussed outstanding issues to be addressed from the joint action plan before licensing could begin.

IMF- Ghana Is Broke . . . Unable To Meet Financing Costs

            The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has expressed renewed concerns over Ghana’s deteriorating debt situation.

According to the Fund, “Ghana is at high risk of debt distress and faces exceptionally high gross financing needs.”

In an exclusive email conversation with Business Finder, the fund recommended a change in the country’s borrowing strategy, to consider changing market conditions when assessing alternative debt instruments.

An IMF spokesperson pointed out that to support government’s aim at a primary surplus for 2016 which is set to bring the debt to a downward trajectory, the fiscal deficit will also need to be financed at the lowest cost, taking due  account of the risks.

$900,000 Goes To The Drain In Ghana Through SIM Box Fraud

         Ghana is believed to have lost a little over $900,000 in just five months according to communications and security experts due the activities of SIM box operators in the country in collaboration with their foreign counterparts.

According to these experts, these loses could have been avoided should the nation institute functional regulatory measures to check the telecom industry.

To help address the challenge of SIM box fraud which has costs the nation several millions of Ghana cedis and other peculiar challenges facing the telecommunications sector, Parliament has passed into law the Electronic Communications (Amendment) Bill, 2016.

Breaking-News-Three-Retired-South-Africa-Policemen-deported

They were put on board South African Airways flight number 210, which departed around 9:26am Tuesday to Johannesburg.

Their entry visas have been revoked by the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS).

Officials from the GIS and security details from the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI), escorted the three to the aircraft, which was yet to be boarded by other passengers.

Graphic Online witnessed the scene as the three were made to board the aircraft around 8:29 am. They were not handcuffed and had no security escort from Ghana.

According to security sources, South African officials would meet the three on arrival.

The three — Major Ahmed Shaik Hazis (retd), 54; Warrant Officer Denver Dwayhe, 33, and Captain Mlungiseli Jokani, 45 — were arrested at the EL-Capitano Hotel where they had been based since arriving in Ghana.

They were said to be training 15 young men in various security drills, including unarmed combat, weapon handling, VIP protection techniques and rapid response exercises.

     Ghana coach Avram Grant believes his side did enough to beat Mozambique on Sunday but ended up drawing 0-0 in their 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

Man kisses police officer during confrontation, fight breaks out

When a police officer in Liuzhou City, China, found himself in a heated argument with a street vendor resisting arrest, the last thing he expected was to get kissed on the lips by the offender.

The man in question, identified only by his surname Huang, was allegedly illegally operating a roadside food stall, when the police turned up after receiving a tip-off to arrest him, CCTV News said. The pair soon got into a verbal argument, but instead of throwing punches, Huang planted a kiss on the officer's mouth. His actions infuriated the officer so much that the confrontation turned violent with a bunch of officers attacking the man.

People, believed to be associated to Huang, immediately came to his rescue, throwing stools and bowls at the officers. The situation turned into a full-on brawl, and Huang was later subdued and taken into custody.

Mike Tyson Rubber Stamps Donald Trump

Mike Tyson’s support of Donald Trump has not wavered one bit despite all of the controversy surrounding the man who has emerged as the frontrunner for the GOP nomination.

The former heavyweight champion expressed his support for the business tycoon-turned-presidential candidate back in October when speaking to HuffPost Live. But back then the idea of Trump making a serious run at becoming the 45th President of the United States was preposterous to some. However, now that Trump is firmly established in the presidential race, Tyson has reaffirmed his position.

While speaking to the New York Post, Tyson expressed empathy for Trump and likened the vitriol that has been directed toward the 69 year old to how he was disliked during his rise through the heavyweight ranks.

“I think it’s a pretty awesome thing that he’s doing so well,” Tyson said. “People are combining together to make sure he doesn’t win. He’s probably telling himself, 'They hate me more than they hate [President Barack] Obama.’ You know it’s crazy when people who fought so hard to get rid of Obama would now rather keep him because they hate Trump more than they hate him.”

Tyson spoke to ‘Good Day New York’ and was asked if he was fully in Trump’s corner. “Yes,” Tyson said. “All day. Every day. Vote Trump.”

Tyson and Trump have a relationship that stretches back to the late 1980s when the youngest heavyweight champion in boxing history fought at Trump Plaza in Atlantic City. The two have remained friendly with each other ever since and now Tyson has let it be known that he will fully endorse Trump’s run for the White House.

“If you want to get this city out of a dump, you better vote on Trump,” Tyson said.

Although he admits that he’s never endorsed a candidate before, Iron Mike seems to be going full steam ahead with his Trump support.

“He’s an underdog and no one likes the fact that he is winning,” Tyson said. “I know Trump. This is a good thing. Vote on Trump!”

The young dancehall musician with a unique voice and a huge enthusiasm on stage expressed disappointment in the self-acclaimed dancehall king Shatta Wale for not fulfilling a promise he made to him.

The champ explained that Shatta Wale promised to sign him to the Shatta Movement Record Label and also invite some media houses to take coverage of the whole event.

But according to Chameleon he has waited long enough for this promise to be fulfilled but it seems that is not going to happen.

He also added that he has sacrificed a great deal of his music career to Shatta Wale, but the SM boss has not fulfilled the promise he made to him in return of the good he (chameleon) did for him.

So for this and others reasons Chameleon has decided to break away and move on with his music career rather than waiting for Shatta Wale’s unfulfilled promises.

He also said that out of love and respect for Shatta Wale he turned down a lot of deals which could blow him up.
